Mocha is a large Dutch Warmblood stallion that I photographed at a large facility in southern France in 2016. I am always looking for interesting light when I am at a new location. With this one, I found a very long row of stalls with a double sliding door on one side. We opened up the doors and positioned the horse so he was just inside the open door. Once we got him positioned, we had a couple of people stand in the doorway so he wouldn’t escape, and a trainer on the inside enticing the horse with carrots to get him to bend his neck and look to the side.
